Investing in Sweden: Transaction Value Analysis 2025
Investing in Sweden: Transaction Value Analysis 2025 is SVCA’s annual analysis of the total capital behind private equity and venture capital investments in Swedish companies from 2007 to 2025, produced in collaboration with Invest Europe. Where activity statistics count only the equity provided by the funds, the transaction value also includes co-investments and external leverage, giving a fuller picture of the capital that reaches companies. The analysis is broken down into venture capital, growth capital and buyout.
2025 in brief:
- Total transaction value reached a record SEK 253.6bn, up 48% compared with 2024, across 457 companies.
- Equity provided by the funds accounted for 52% of the transaction value. The rest came from co-investments and leverage.
- Buyout reached a record SEK 220.6bn, 87% of the total, and the average transaction value per buyout company rose to SEK 2.9bn from SEK 1.8bn.
- Venture capital rose 67% to SEK 20.6bn, driven by later-stage venture, which tripled to SEK 9.9bn.
- Since 2007, SEK 1.59trn has been invested in 4,422 companies.
