Private Equity, Venture Capital at Work in Sweden 2020

Private equity and venture capital are a cornerstone of the Swedish economy present in every region and every major business sector across the continent. From technology and life sciences start-ups to manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large consumer-focused multinationals, private equity and venture capital backed companies support millions of high-value jobs driving prosperity and growth in the process.

For the first time, the Swedish Private Equity & Venture Capital Association in collaboration with Invest Europe present a bespoke national fact sheet, highlighting Swedish figures from the annual Private Equity at Work report. At the end of 2020, private equity and venture capital backed companies in Sweden employed 243,222 people, representing 5.1% of Sweden’s total 4.8 million workforce.
